Professional dental prosthetics

The orthopedic department of dentistry specializes in dental prosthetics, which involves replacing missing or damaged teeth and significantly improving the appearance of the dental arch. There are two main types of dental prosthetics:

  1. Removable
  2. Fixed

As with any medical procedure, the outcome and quality depend on the qualifications and experience of the dentist or dental technician. The availability of modern equipment, advanced materials, and specialized dental tools is also crucial.

Teeth are a unique part of the oral cavity, so each dental prosthesis is custom-made. When evaluating the condition of the oral cavity, the dentist also considers the patient's overall health. Additionally, the loads on the supporting teeth are calculated, as overload can have serious consequences.

Prostheses are made in dental laboratories where the dental technician and dentist closely monitor the process and the results of their work. This approach ensures not only high-quality prostheses but also smooth teamwork during their installation. Generally, high-quality prostheses last about 15-20 years and maintain their aesthetic qualities over time.

In most dental clinics, the prices for prosthetics can be inflated, often related to attempts to justify the clinic's status. Besides dental prosthetics, these clinics may offer various oral care services, bite correction, and other procedures. However, it's important to carefully consider the pricing levels in dental clinics.

Fixed prosthetics include crown placement and dental implants. Removable prosthetics encompass plate and clasp types. Another important service is tooth preparation for crowns, which involves aligning the crown and tooth surfaces so that no noticeable protrusions are visible and the tooth looks natural.
